Terms and conditions

Last updated: 30 October 2026

In short: the first three plates are free; after that you use Calorel with a subscription, monthly or yearly, with a 7-day free trial. The subscription is paid and cancelled through the App Store or Google Play. Calories are estimates, not medical advice.

Who offers Calorel

The Calorel app and the calorel.ro website are offered by Mihai Crisan, Cleodalabs. Write to contact@calorel.ro.

What the app does

From a photo of a meal, Calorel estimates the foods, portions, calories and nutrition values, gives the plate a score from 1 to 10 and keeps a log of your meals on your phone. You can search for foods, scan barcodes and correct any value.

Estimates, not medical advice

The values are estimates: from a photo the foods or portions can be guessed wrong, and recipes differ. The scores show how balanced a plate is, not a medical recommendation. Calorel does not replace the advice of a doctor or a dietitian and is not made for diagnosis, treatment or medical diets. If you have a condition, are pregnant or have had an eating disorder, talk to a doctor first. Calorel is not made for children under 16.

The free plates and the subscription

Without an active subscription, your meal history stays visible on the phone; no new meals are added.

Fair use

You use Calorel for yourself. Do not try to bypass the subscription, use the app's server from other programs or load it abusively. We may limit the access of those who do.

Your data

How we use data is explained in the privacy policy. In short: no account, the log stays on your phone, and photos sent for analysis are not kept.

The app from the App Store

For the app downloaded from the App Store, Apple's standard licence for apps also applies (Licensed Application End User License Agreement).

Liability

We do our best to keep the app working well, but we do not guarantee that the estimates are exact or that the service is available without interruption. To the extent permitted by law, we are not liable for decisions taken solely on the basis of the estimates. Your statutory consumer rights are unaffected.

Complaints

If something is not working as it should, write to us first at contact@calorel.ro: we answer and look for a solution together. Money for a subscription is claimed back from Apple or Google, as above. As a consumer, you may also use the alternative dispute resolution bodies of the country you live in; in Romania, the National Authority for Consumer Protection (reclamatiisal.anpc.ro).

Changes and governing law

If we change these terms, we update the page and the date at the top; important changes are announced in the app. The terms are governed by the law of England and Wales, without taking away the protection given to you by the law of the country where you live as a consumer. The Romanian version at calorel.ro/termeni is the original; this is its translation.
